Cornwall Holiday August 2015

So I have been saying for a while now that I am going to start doing a bit more personal work. I love taking photos of other people, especially couples and families but I really want to start documenting my own life a bit more - sometimes I find it sad we don't document things enough. Sure we all take selfies and snaps on holiday and when were out doing fun stuff - myself included, however looking through my social media photos it seems like on most of them I am posing with either a wine glass or a beer and I am in either a restaurant or pub/bar. Don't get me wrong I love these photos and I will cherish them - they are mostly taken with my favourite people in the world, but what story do they tell me 10 years from now? Since taking up photography I have started to look at things so differently, finding beauty in the most simplistic things. I am not saying you need a fancy camera to do this at all, but in a world of social media I do believe we spend a bit too much time looking down into our phones when we are missing what is going on around us, or spending too long trying to perfect our next 'profile picture' for facebook. (I too am guilty of this). My advice would be to take as many photos as possible - even if the subject looks boring as you never know - these could be the photos that piece the story together when you are looking back when you are old and grey, after all, we ALL have a story to tell. Anyway, enough waffle, here are some photos of our latest holiday to Mousehole, Cornwall. The weather was miserable most of the time but we had a fantastic, relaxing break at the beautiful Store room. I can highly recommend. I hope you enjoy....
